Jira 2FA auto-enable for new users?

    Hi.

We’re testing your Jira-plugin for possible implementation our corporate Jira instance. One snag I’ve found so far is that I can’t seem to find a way to enable auto-activation of 2FA for new users. We want to minimize the workload when creating new users, but enabling 2FA for members of the default “jira-users” group is not an option, as we have several machine-accounts for auto-reporting bugs.

Do you have a good solution for this?

    Hello Snorre,

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

Yes, you can definitely enable the 2FA for new users automatically. There is a provision in the addon using which you can achieve this use case.

Please perform the below steps to automatically enable the 2FA for newly created users.

    1. Navigate to the User Management -> 2FA For Users tab.
    2. Click on the Bulk 2FA Action drop Down
    3. Select Enable 2FA option from the All Users section
    4. Click on Apply button.

Now, the addon will automatically enable the 2FA for existing as well as new users.

This is how you can enable 2FA for newly created users.

Let me know if this helps you.

    Thanks,
    Shradha
